If you are an Apple iPhone owner and use IBM Lotus Notes email, there is a new way to access your mail, calendars and contacts on the move via the iPhone.

Named Lotus iNotes ultralite, the application uses the inbuilt Safari Web browser to access Notes. The application is freely available to anyone with a Lotus Notes software license.

To access this you would use your web mail address such as mailhost.testcompany.com and you will be prompted for your username and password. For full functionality your server administrator will need to install IBM Lotus Domino Web Access 8.0.2. If you are unsure on what your username and password is, contact your local IT support and they will be able to provide the information.

From within your Inbox you can reply, forward, delete and even view attachments in the email. You can also view your Sent items, All Documents and Trash.

The ‘Day At a Glance’ option allows you to view any entries that have been made into your personal calendar. You are able to view previous days and also view any upcoming events. Unfortunately, at the moment you are unable to create any new events from the iPhone.

The ‘Contact’ function allows you to view your contacts and then if adequate information has been inputted you can choose to click on their email address from within the record and you are their email address is added to a new email. You can also create new contact inputting information such as: email address, home address, telephone number and other information.
